Overall Performance Has Been Great
By Dan F.

Review Posted 02/20/2024
Overall performance for my application has been great except for the pressure switch. I've now had to replace it twice in less than 18 months using the IR replacement parts. Switching to an aftermarket pressure switch with a higher amperage rating and less than half the cost.

I didn’t pay attention to what I was ordering and it cannot keep up with the demand that I expected of it, I should’ve paid more attention to the description I needed something that can provide more air and this single piston compressor wasn’t adequate for what I need it for but I will make it work, the quality is excellent I have no problems with that

Owned For About A Decade. Ultimately Sold It.

I thought IR was a great compressor brand. I bought this compressor in 2007 or so and sold it around 2018. During that time and light use I had problems with the pressure switch, dump pipe, and pieces of disintegrating seals or valves interfering with operation. It was also loud and rattled. It is very heavy and no complaints about the tank itself.

Pretty Upset About This Purchase

I own a small business, I am not a mechanic but pretty handy. I had to call the factory to even get this thing off the pallet. It was secured with a carriage bolt, there was no way to get any purchase on the head side to prevent the bolt from spinning when I turned the nut. The factory tech said it was a dumb way to secure it too. First time I turned it on to run for 30 minutes without any pressure building. I took the cover off and reinstalled the switch but now it won't turn on at all.

Good Compressor, Poor Design For Release Valve
By Christopher G.
Los Angeles, California
Purchased 11/21/2020 |
Review Posted 12/15/2020
We had the compressor up and running pretty easily. We are in the habit of draining tanks every night. The second day the guys turned the release valve a bit too far, this caused the rubber seal to break. Once removed you can see that the seal is designed to fail if the valve is opened too far. A bit disappointing but an easy solve.

Very Good

I purchased this particular compressor because it fit in a tight space in my shop which limited my choices a bit. It's been very good although I've not used it too much yet. The only thing I wish it had was a side tap for the air rather than coming out of the switch at the top of the tank. This resulted in the pipe sticking out further than I would have liked, but it doesn't affect its performance. A side tap would have given me some more options for routing the airline. Other than that it's working great.

Solid Compressor
By Ronald K.

Purchased 04/21/2020 |
Review Posted 05/14/2020
The compressor was shipped quickly and arrived without any damage. FedEx freight is a bit of a PIA to deal with as I received numerous email about what day it would be delivered, only to have them text me near the end of the day to call and schedule the delivery. I installed it on rubber/steel machinery mounts with concrete anchors, wired in a 240v plug/cord, and filled it with Ingersoll’s synthetic lube without any difficulties. As instructed, I ran the compressor for 30 minutes with the valve open so that it would not build any pressure. I was happy with how much quieter it was than my old Craftsman oil less compressor. I kept checking the compressor and motor for abnormal heat. I did notice that the belt guard had a pretty good rattle around the input shat to the compressor, but a couple pieces of rubber pushed in between dampened it right up. After the break-in period was up, I closed the valve and it filled the tank up and shut down within just a few minutes. I have had a few occasions to use it in the 3 weeks since getting it and I don’t think I could be any more satisfied. The doesn’t seem to be any air leaks in the unit as it will sit for days without any pressure loss.
