Compressor 60 Gallon
By Gary C

Review Posted 02/10/2023

I was looking for a 60 gallon compressor with the highest CFM under two grand and this is the best one I could find super quiet compared to my 30 gallon 6 hp. I haven’t got to use it for a job yet but so far seems really nice.

Excellent Value

Packaged well on a pallet, showed up two weeks early, undamaged. Sat for two plus months while time allowed for an entire air system installation. All installed and functioning. 1 man install. Bolted down on Kobalt compressor pads-Zero vibration. Fan shroud rattles enough to drive a person out of the shop. That will be reengineered to address the incessant Rattle! The Air Compressor tank system-leaks air. First air compressor in 43 years to experience that not a deal breaker but a full tank drains empty in 12 hours whereas the 20 gal system it replaces wont leak a pound in a week. There are many fittings involved in the Compressor and any one of them or all of them could be leaking...A spray bottle of soapy water, a bunch of tools, Teflon tape, TruBlu and a whole bunch of time should be the recipe to fix what shouldn't have to be fixed.
It's not terribly noisy, Do Bolt It Down on compressor pads to concrete otherwise plan on wearing ear muffs while it runs. Be careful mounting this on crawlspace/wood flooring systems-the reverberation will be unbearable. Consider the Extended warranty program it seems worth it. The motor is a US Motor a manufacturer brand that is commonly sold at the big box home stores as Evaporative cooler motors-this is not an Evap Motor, but the US Motor brand is found often. All in all I would buy it again but now knowing, I would consider making sure it was Tank-Sealed. A leaky tank is not a big argument unless it leaks so profusely the motor & pump have to make up the shortcoming-The Maintenance program states you will drain the tank daily-so you are evacuating the tank anyway.
All in all-I researched Compressors for almost a year and decided this one was top of its class considering its CFM, Pressure, MFG, Motor, Pump, parts & reviews. I also contacted some other considerations and found the Customer Service Department (before the sale) was enough to remove them from my list. Anybody can make a compressor-its how you handle the mistakes and problems. This company had terrific responses and reviews. The company was engaged. Many factors considered, now we will see if this is good for the next 25 years.

I never write reviews, but I truly could not be any happier with this purchase. The compressor came as promised and with good communication from the delivery company. The compressor arrived in perfect condition with excellent packaging and not a scratch on it. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. Works great and I look forward to many years with my Maxair compressor. I would definitely recommend this compressor and would recommend people buy it here. Thank you

Turned It Up To 160 PSI
By Mike H.
Washington
Purchased 03/31/2018 |
Review Posted 05/17/2018

I use this for spray foam and need 20 CFM at 90 PSI. I adjusted the pressure regulator to stop at 160 PSI and to restart at 130 PSI and can run continuously at 80 PSI full flow. So yes it works good. Was easy to set up and wire in the power cord.

Good Compressor
By The Dude
Asbury Park, New Jersey
Purchased 10/30/2017 |
Review Posted 11/23/2017
Good compressor. I did my own calculations and got 18.3 CFM. So the rating given by the manufacturer is pretty accurate. The compressor is pretty heavy. The pump on it is massive. I got an average of 85 decibels about an arms length from the compressor. That's normal. I don't like the drain valve very much though.
I haven't gotten to much use out of it yet, since the weather is getting cold where I am. I am overall happy with this compressor with what I've done with it so far.

OK For The Price
By Richard R.

Purchased 05/31/2016 |
Review Posted 06/29/2016
I bought this compressor mainly to run a Trinco media cabinet which is rated a 15scfm at 90 psi. The compressor cannot keep up. It will only keep a constant 60psi. It seems to vibrate a good deal so I had to make a brace for the fan/belt cage. 1 of the air filter just broke off. I guess from shipping.
Its fairly quiet and seems to build air fast. I guess you get what you pay for.

Upgrade

I picked this up after I bought a blast cabinet and my existing 110 compressor couldn't even remotely keep up (shock). I'd wanted a 220 unit for some time and this one got really good reviews.
We're at 6700' so you don't get anywhere near advertised CFM, but even then, the only thing we've found that will outrun this compressor is my buddy's super cheap, air hog d/a. It outpaces his HVLP, his inline sander, my die grinder, while porting heads, even my blast cabinet.
Also a plus are the ball valve for the outlet, and a 90'd tank drain with a ball valve you can actually reach. Noise wise, its only a little louder than my previous, oiled 110 unit. So far, I highly recommend.

Hi Steve,
I'm doing a wiring walkthrough on my new garage on Tuesday. Looking at single stage 60 to 80 gallon compressor with enough flow to run a HVLP paint gun. Looks llike this MAXair model is right for my needs. Could you tell me the amperage draw of this compressor so I can get it in my specs?
